Abstract

The commercial tomato cultivation is common in plastic film covered greenhouse because tomato plants need to high temperature and high humidity in Korea. It can be classified into two large groups of recently greenhouse cultivation for tomato. One is so-called “smart farming” also known as ‘precision farming’, the other one is conventional type of plastic film covered greenhouse. The smart farming is using sensing technology to make farms more intelligent that is collected a large amount of information such as sun-light, water content, temperature and humidity from bed culture with nutrient solution. So nowadays, smart farming is increasing precipitously. It is suggested that tomato smart farming is expected a difference from the conventional farming in occurrence of insect pests. We tried to investigate the difference at a kind of insect pest and population dynamics between two types of farming. Also, temperature and humidity according to height and position in greenhouse were periodically collected. And we compared insecticidal activity of some eco-friendly agents for Bemisia tabaci. Among eco-friendly agents, sophora extract + neem tree extract showed 94% mortality of 7 days after treatment. Eco-friendly agents may be helped and contributed to IPM at tomato smart farming.

(Kang et al., 2015; Park and Rue, 2015; Cha et al., 2016; Suh and Kim, 2016; Yeo et al., 2016; Na et al., 2017; Yi, 2017).

(Gupta and Dikshit, 2010).

담배가루이의 천적으로는 담배장님노린재(Nesidiocoris tenuis), 황온좀벌(Eretmocerus eremicus), 온실가루이좀벌(Encarsia formosa) 등이 보고되어 있다(Matsui, 1995; van Lenteren and Woets, 1988; Kim et al., 2008; Yoon et al., 2010). 또한 담배가루이에 효과가 있는 친환경제제를 개발하기 위한 연구들이 이루어져왔다(Toscano et al., 1997; Isman, 2000; Arif et al., 2004; Choi and Kim, 2004; Isman, 2006; Faria and Wraight, 2007; Kumer, 2008; Isman et al., 2011; Zhu and Kim, 2011; Kim et al., 2013; Lee et al., 2013; Prota et al., 2013; Sundh and Goettel, 2013). (Gillespie and Menzies, 1993).

Fig. 11.
Change of population densities of Bemisia tabaci depending on application of eco-friendly agent (Tanacetum cinerariifolium extract) and natural enemies to Bemisia tabaci (Nesidiocoris tenuis) in the smart farm.
